Breakfast with Santa

Nov 25th, 2008 | By Michelle Ventress | Category: Lifestyle

The holiday season just isn’t complete without the requisite visit with Santa. Parents across the country have been handing their children over to the chubby stranger in a red suit for years, all for the sake of the coveted photo with Santa. Not to say that some children don’t love it. And it’s a great gift for grandparents. This year in Rancho Cordova, families will be able to visit Santa and have breakfast at Applebees. It’s a win, win opportunity.

Even if you don’t have a special place in your heart for the jolly giant elf, there is always breakfast to be had. The proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the Junior Rotary and will help their Literacy project. Every year, the Junior Rotary helps the Rancho Cordova Rotary supply dictionaries to the elementary students in Rancho Cordova. The Junior Rotary also includes a self designed and printed pamphlet to go with the dictionaries.

Breakfast with Santa event will be held at the Applebee’s in Gold River (2170 Golden Center Lane) on Saturday December 13th .  It will begin at 8am and breakfast will be served until 10.  The Junior Rotary will be serving scrambled eggs, bacon, country potatoes, fruit, and orange juice, milk, or coffee. The ticket prices are $5 for students and $7 for adults and will include a goodie bag and a Polaroid picture with Santa.  Tickets can be reserved or purchased by contacting Conrade Mayer (1cmmayer@comcast.net). Ticket sales are limited to 200, and are on first come, first serve basis.

To make the morning extra special, the Cordova High School advanced girls choir, Nutin But Treble  will be preforming under their conductor, Mrs. Donovan-Rueb. Make sure you purchase your tickets in advance and support your local Junior Rotary.
