The Folsom Cordova Unified School District has a program to assist homeless students with meeting basic needs. Last year alone, 680 students were served through this program and even more families are feeling the pinch this year. For many residents, that number is far too high. A group of caring community leaders recently asked the District Liaison for Homeless Services how they could help. Their reply? Socks.
This group of caring citizens decided to do a sock drive to help ease the financial burden on families and be a blessing to the youth in our district. They will be aiming to raise 680 pairs of new socks through December 13th and all community members are invited to get involved. Even with tight times in our economy, we can all do something to make life a little more comfortable for others.
The students the school district serves are living in unstable places like motels, in tents, cars, in RVs and in homes without power or water. These are all students who live in the Folsom Cordova Unified School District.
There are various drop off locations throughout our community to make donating brand new socks for students as easy as possible. For more information on Project 680, click here.

That's fantastic. THANK YOU to The RC Soroptimist Club and RC Post. We appreciate your partnership and generosity. We do not yet have a tally, but we should have something to report in about a week or so hopefully. If anyone donates or would like to get involved by collecting socks at the office, in your neighborhood, at church, with friends or family, etc… let us know. Please see the FAQ on our website for details.
