As of 6pm 11/08, the Grandee Apts remain in tact. Weather must have canceled the beginning of the demo.

Here’s a little history the city and leaders haven’t mentioned regarding Grandee…
It’s high time this complex cease to exist.

To clarify, the Grandee will be demolished in a couple of weeks, pending asbestos abatement. On Friday there was a brief photo session with Council members and a few other interested parties who took a whack at the building which has been a blight on the community for some time.

We’ll let you know when the actual demolition will occur as soon as we have a date set.

    We’re sorry for the confusion.

  4. Demolition is in progress. As I drove by yesterday afternoon, the front "wing" of the Grandee was almost completely demolished. It was a beautiful sight.
