Presidential Race Tightens, Huge Turnout Expected

Nov 3rd, 2008 | By Geoffrey Sakala | Category: News, Top Story

The campaigns seem to have run endlessly for the past year. There were many challengers and now there are two men, Barack Obama and John McCain, vying for votes to become the next President of the United States of America. The economic crisis which has rocked this country and the world has had a profound effect on this campaign. So much so that there has been barely a whisper about Iraq recently.

The focus of the next President will be on rebuilding our economy and our relations around the world after eight years of war. The world is watching this election closely as one of the most important events in world history this decade.

There are already reports of lines of up to 10 hours waiting to vote. The two campaigns have raised huge sums of cash and have used those war chests to build dynamic grassroots campaigns to register voters and get out the vote in key battleground states. We very well could see the largest turnout in history.

Polls are already open in 32 states for early voting and mant absentee ballots have been cast, but the votes won’t be counted until Tuesday. In response we’re conducting our own informal poll right here, right now. Vote for who you think will become the next President of the United States. Let’s see if Rancho Cordova can predict the outcome of the election.
