Rancho Cordova Police and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies continue to search for a murder suspect believed to have killed one and injured four others during a party Halloween night.

On November 1, 2008, at 12:01 a.m. Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies and Rancho Cordova Police Department Officers responded to a call reporting a shooting at a home located in the 2200 block of Rogue River Drive. The deputies and officers arrived at the home and were met by approximately thirty-five people who had been attending a Halloween party at the home at the time of the shooting. The deputies were told by the crowd several people at the party had been shot.

The deputies entered the home and located five gunshot wound victims. The first victim, a 24-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three victims were transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive. A 22-year-old male was wounded in the arm, a 24-year-male was wounded in the stomach, and a second 24-year-old male was wounded in the leg. The fifth victim, also a 24-year-old male, suffered a grazing bullet wound and refused medical attention.

Detectives have learned that during the party the first victim became involved in an argument with the suspect. During the argument the suspect pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired multiple shots which struck the five victims. The suspect fled on-foot after the shooting. He was described as a Black male, 21-25-years-old, 5’ 8” tall, with a thin build, and wearing all dark clothing.

A motive for the shooting has not been identified. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is urged to call Sheriff’s Homicide detectives at (916) 874-5115, or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.
