Best of Rancho: Coffee

I learned to appreciate and respect the joys of coffee when I went to college, even though it was generally from the tiny, single person pot in my dorm room. Others began their obsession with the caramel macchiato when Starbucks made it big. Sometimes an ice cold, sugary sweet frappuccino is just what I need. Other times a home brewed pot with light vanilla creamer hits the spot. In any case, Americans love their coffee, and a lot of it. So much so that McDonald’s is now targeting economically conscientious coffee addicts with their low cost, Costco sized coffees. (Seriously, have you seen the large iced coffees? They’re huge!)

So. That leads me to this weeks Best Of Rancho. What’s your opinion on the local coffee? Are you still a die hard Starbucks fan? Or do you prefer a simple, plain black coffee at your favorite bakery? Which caffeinated bit of bliss helps to take the bite out of Mondays? Or the rest of the week, for that matter. Let us know where you go and what you order- it could be the most delicious thing you write about all day.

Pet of the Week- Alice

When Alice arrived at the LAPCATS adoption center, a non-profit support group of the County shelter, she settled right in on her comfy bed. Every day, she patiently waits as volunteers enter the room to open the cages one by one. She has been in a cage on and off for almost 2-months and welcomes any petting she can get. Alice loves to hangout and help with paperwork.
