VSP Vision Care, the nations largest provider of eye care coverage, was recently recognized for implementing green practices at its Rancho Cordova Headquarters. It is only one of fourteen companies nationwide to receive the Platinum certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The honor is awarded annually by the nonprofit U.S. Green Building Council.

VSP changed the landscaping and installed low-flow plumbing fixtures to cut water consumption by half and reduced its overall waste by 70%. It also installed monitoring devices to help reduce energy usage and carbon dioxide emissions.

In a country where buildings account for 72% of electricity consumption, VSP is doing their part to curb their energy habits.
