Longtime hotelier Ron Pitamber is in the process of acquiring the necessary permits to build two hotels in Rancho Cordova, for a grand total of $60 million. Pitamber is proposing an eight story, 217 suite Embassy Suites and a 113 room Candlewood Suites on land near Sunrise Blvd.

The City of Rancho Cordova is considering putting $4 million into the project- $2.5 million for a water detention basin, and the the rest going toward frontage improvements, infrastructure and easement.  Hotel rooms generate room and sales tax which would go directly to the city. Micah Runner, Rancho Cordova Economic Development Manager says the $4 million could end up being a good investment for the city.
