Police responded to a emergency call early Sunday morning to find a man with a serious gunshot wound in his upper torso. The shooting occurred at 1:22 a.m. on Sunday the 28th on the 1000 block of Folsom Blvd.  The victim was between 20 and 30 years old and had been shot by a shotgun. The man was taken to UC Davis Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:10 a.m.

Lizbeth Colon who was arrested at an apartment complex at the 5500 block of Mack Road at around 2 p.m. Sunday in connection with the shooting. The victim was shot after what the witnesses described as an altercation with a woman, after which the woman fled the scene.

The victim’s name is being withheld until his family can be contacted.
