Candidate Statement: Mark Bahouth

As a SMUD Director, I will use my experience as a Folsom Utility Commissioner and businessman to ensure SMUD operates effectively and efficiently. During my thirteen years in business management at Intel Corporation, I oversaw the budget and operations of a multi-billion dollar company. As a Folsom Utility Commissioner, I worked to keep water rates low while investing in needed capital improvements to ensure clean and safe drinking water.

As a SMUD Board Director, I will provide oversight and accountability to ratepayers. I will strictly manage the budget and find ways to save money so that our customers receive the lowest rates. I will support investments in low-cost energy alternatives and uphold SMUD’s reputation as a leader in green energy. In addition, I am committed to improving customer service.

State Senator Dave Cox, Assemblyman Roger Niello, Sacramento County Supervisor Roberta MacGlashan, Rancho Cordova Mayor Linda Budge, Rancho Cordova City Council Member David Sanders, Folsom Mayor Eric King and the entire Folsom City Council support me because they know I will represent the interests of ratepayers.

I look forward to serving SMUD customers by utilizing my business leadership and my experience as Folsom Utility Commissioner to meet the increasing energy demands with viable strategies that will continue to keep SMUD’s rates the lowest in the region.

    Hi! Mark

Have seen your signs pop up in the city. I have seen you at work in various roles, you have always stepped into challenging and difficult situations and have never hesitated to ask the tough questions.
