On August 21st, 2008 Michael John Joyce was found guilty of felony vandalism after spraying black paint all over a Rancho Cordova woman’s home. It all began the previous April when the ex-client accused the professional painter of sloppy work and of not using enough paint, then fired him.   In an act of retaliation, Joyce attacked the client’s exterior walls and windows with a can of spray paint.

The home owner had paid $1300 up front and family members who were there with her at the time say they saw Joyce spray-painting the house before running him off the property.

When confronted by a local reporter in April, Joyce admitted to the vandalism saying, “I personally spray-painted the house”.

The sentence was for 210 days in county jail due to credit for time already served- totalling a full year. After seeing the original report in April, professional painters have repainted the house for free.
