The crowd at Friday’s non-league contest between the Cordova Lancers and the visiting El Camino Eagles, watched as Cordova’s football team defeated El Camino by a score of 31-14. This marks their first win of the season after a 22-43 loss to the Bella Vista Broncos. First year coach Vince Isbell gets his first win and next week will be a new challenge to see if he can repeat this feat against coach Mike Morales and the Florin Panthers.

The Lancers now own a 1-1 record. Next game they play host to Florin for a non-league contest on Friday, September 26 at Cordova. This will be the homecoming game for Cordova. The Lancers will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 40-19 non-league win over the Sac High Dragons. The Panthers record now stands at 1-1. Game time next week starts at 7:15 pm.
