Folsom Lake College is the lucky recipient of a $469,000 career technical grant.The grant was awarded through California’s Career Technical Education/Economic and Workforce Development Pathways program. The grant will develop integrated career technical programs with a special emphasis on increasing the awareness of these kinds of opportunities with middle school students.

Folsom Lake College will work in partnership with many of the local schools, businesses, and community agencies. The college includes a main campus in Folsom and satellite centers in El Dorado and Rancho Cordova.

The fall sports season is underway for area schools. Fans will be cheering, students will be defending their school’s pride and on Thursday, the cross town rivalry began. Thursday, September 18th marked the first time Mills Middle School and Mitchell Middle School battled each other this year. The deciding games? Boys soccer and girls volleyball.
