Candidate Statement: Kumar Kalagara

Kumar Kalagara for Folsom Cordova Unified School Board

I am running for the Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board to strengthen the education system through early health education, increased parental involvement, and efficient use of district funds. Specifically, I want to address the issues of district’s rapid growth, classroom sizes, school safety, and parent communications regarding school emergencies.

I will help develop district wide programs for Folsom Cordova Unified School District’s diverse community. These broad based programs will enable every student to accomplish their personal best, whether they are academically gifted or challenged or have special needs or unique talents. I will work hard to raise the level of lower ranking schools through sound fiscal policies, technology, parental involvement, and more comprehensive programs during and after school. I would also emphasis on extracurricular activities such as performing arts, sports, and physical fitness that contribute to the long-term successes and careers of our students.

I will facilitate continuous discussions on finances, educational priorities/programs, safety/discipline, and academic achievement. These discussions will address relevant community issues to improving our district educational system.
