Convenient to Rancho Cordovans, and open to all, the Master Food Preserver Program of the University of California Cooperative Extension will be offering two food preservation classes during the month of September.
The first class takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. September 13. “Step by Step” is an introductory class on water canning. There is no fee. The second class, “Apples Plus,” does have a $3.00 materials fee, payable at the door. This class is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on September 17.
The UCCE is just off Bradshaw Road. Food preservation classes are taught by Master Food Preservers. These are volunteers who are certified through the University of California and donate their time to conduct workshops, give presentations and provide information to the community on food safety and preservation.
The Extension office is open Monday through Friday from 9-12 and 1-4 and is at 4145 Branch Center Road. For more information contact them at 875-6913 or cesacramento@ucdavis.edu.
