Is this on an amber alert? If not, why not?

Amber Alerts are issued when certain criteria are met… known abduction, license plates and description of the getaway car. This girl went missing in a bad neighborhood. She needs more media exposure.

I have read a lot of emails from the “mother” (today, posted on Freecycle group sites) about the missing girl. According to her emails, her daughter disappeared on August 16th and is “mentally retarded”, So I am curious why it is now getting on the internet. Why hasn’t any of the local TV stations (or Radio) picked up on this story? Where are the police? or Sheriff? So, I am just curious about what REALLY has been done to find her.

We will find her. Don’t worry.
