“Gone to the Dogs” is sponsoring the 3rd annual “Wet ‘N Woofy” event. Dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages are invited to attend the end of summer bash at Lincoln Village Pool (3480 Routier Rd). The poolside fun begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30 and runs until 2 p.m. and dogs are encouraged to play, swim and romp in the newly closed for the season pool.
All dogs need to be leashed when coming into the park, but can roam leash-free to their hearts content while inside the gated pool area. Dogs will also need to have current vaccinations, including rabies, bordatella, and DHLPPC or DHPPC vaccinations. All four legged participants must also have a show their license before entering the pool area.
There is a limit of two dogs per human to keep things orderly, and any human under the age of 18 must have adult supervision. The cost of the event is $10 per dog at the door, or you can save a little by registering beforehand for only $7. Registration information can be found at theCordova Recreation and Park District website. All proceeds benefit the future off-leash dog parks in the Cordova Recreation Park District.
The Park District Dog Park Group, “Gone to the Dogs” meets the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the CRPD main office, 2197 Chase Drive. The group works in partnership with the Cordova Recreation and Park District to create local, community friendly dog parks. More information about other Dog Park events, or becoming a member can be found at the Gone to the Dogs official website.
