Fire Breaks Out Along American River Parkway

A fire along the American River Parkway has caused firefighters to close the bike trail to numerous commuters who will have to use surface streets. Currently, there is no known cause for the fire and the size of the area burned has not been released.

Police Car Break In Results in Stolen Gun and Computer

On July 30th, a Sacramento County deputy came out of a training to find his car broken into, and his gun, his laptop, and his GPS system gone. While this is not unusual, Tim Curran, the Sheriffs spokesperson says police firearm theft occurs about once a year, many area residents may find this more than a little disturbing.

Police/ Fire Report for Rancho Cordova July 25-August 1

The following was supplied by the Rancho Cordova Police Department and the Sacramento Sheriffs Department for Gold River and Rancho Cordova.  Mills Station and Routier roads, arrest. Michael Devale Thomas, 22, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. July 25 on suspicion of obstructing/ interfering with lawful business operations.
