City of Rancho Cordova enacts new ordinance 

In Rancho Cordova new steps are being taken to crackdown on slumlords who refuse to fix up their properties.

A new city ordinance now requires apartment owners to register with the city, making them easier to track down by code enforcement.

Landlords will still be required to maintain their properties, and will face criminal charges if they fail to do so.
